The impossible happened. I left the house! Well, there's a little more to that.
After years of practicing the medicine in isolation, Sophia, my friend and my wonderful Ceremony Assistant, invited me to attend Awakening, a psychedelic conference in Eagle Rock over the weekend. I'm usually apprehensive about these types of events because of my previous less-than-wholesome experiences. But this time, I had a lot of fun. I ran into a couple of old friends that I hadn't seen in years and made many new connections. I had a lot of inspiring talks with many inspiring folks. I look forward to being a part of this greater community.
This has been a wild end of the year for us and the world. As we approach this winter, may we bring some blessings and prayers to our friends and neighbors for a smooth transition to 2025.
As we progress towards the third quarter of the year, summer has come to an end. Although we are only a week away from October, it still feels like the hot weather is going strong for a little while in Southern California. We’ve had some beautiful celebrations this year and lots more celebrations to look forward to in the future. Enjoy the beautiful weather.
Summer is here! It might not feel like it currently in California because of our coastal fog and June Gloom. Due to Summer’s Solstice falling on a Wednesday this year, the Solar Rite will be celebrated on the weekend of the 24th this month. However, since many are out of town that weekend, the Light’s Hope chapter in Los Angeles will not celebrate a Solstice Rite. The monthly Lunar Rites will resume on July 1st weekend. Happy Solstice.
